This was taken in January on the east shore of Lake Tahoe. I used a split ND filter to hold back the sky and allow the foreground to be properly exposed.

This shot was taken in the early morning after one of the only good snow storms we had this year in Tahoe. I xc skied down to this photogenic valley near my house to find some good snow compositions. This was the best image from that shoot. I took it handheld with the HD3 and 80mm lens.
